Field Installation Project Manager

Overview


The Field Installation Project Manager partners with the Service Manager, Operations Manager, and General Manager to develop local market service strategy by aligning branch and corporate initiatives to encourage growth of current business and cultivate new customers.

This role is a key member of the branch management team and must be a highly presentable and thoughtful individual who is well-versed in management of skilled trade projects and customer dispute resolution.  This management position requires a unique skill set that bridges the relationship between technical services and sales functions, which could include an installation team upwards of 16 people.

In addition, this role is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of best practices, standards, and service procedures while identifying process improvement opportunities.


Responsibilities


  • Handle customer issues as they arise, responding to all customer concerns same-day and reaching a mutually agreeable resolution. Identify trends to follow-up with technical team on opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage the install schedule through coordination with Procurement Team, Equipment Specialists & Contractors as required.  Seek opportunities for improvement through strategic thinking.
  • Management of customer installation projects, including supervision of site checks by Install Team Lead Technicians, sub-contractor support and install complaint resolution.
  • Responsible for filing and monitoring Install warranty claims.
  • Read completed invoices daily to track new equipment failure trends, accuracy of descriptions, technical readings listed, etc. Follow-up with improvement opportunities with team.
  • Responsible to ensure our service technicians are compliant with company and regulatory standards (i.e., x-ray compliance, rental equipment reporting, etc.)
  • Coordinate and run monthy technical training meetings with metric review, feedback and training. Participates in monthly and special company meetings, as appropriate.
  • Create, monitor and report weekly on Install KPIs to Operations Manager
  • Facilitates a cooperative and productive working relationship between the branch & field teams, as well as other areas of the company.
  • Works with the Service Manager and Operations Manager to mutually establish performance improvements and seek out ongoing education/training opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. This may include performing duties that are outside of the scope of normal job duties.

People Management:

  • Encourage the growth of all direct and indirect reports through skill development and goal setting.
  • Hold direct reports accountable for meeting performance standards and departmental performance goals.
  • Mentor staff, measure performance, and complete regular performance reviews.
  • Resolve employee issues in an effective and consistent manner.

Physical Demands:  This position requires continuous moderate or occasional heavy physical activity.

  • Must be able to move equipment weighing up to 100 routinely.
  • Must be able to stand up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to operate power tools.
  • Must be able to regularly ascend/descend a ladder for installations.
  • Must be able to position self to install/maintain equipment, including under desks/cabinets.


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • 2+ years of managing field-based service repair technicians
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience in leading teams and fostering highly collaborative work environments, championing innovation, and advancing the capabilities of high performing teams
  • 2+ years of experience managing KPI reporting through drawing insights from the data and analyzing trends
  • Candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, exercising diplomacy and good judgment.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft 365 and experience with MS Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Related dental industry knowledge is a plus
