Territory Manager, Veterinary Equipment

Kane Veterinary Supplies is a Canadian wholesale distributor and manufacturer agent, providing excellence in distribution of the highest quality, cutting edge, value-laden products to the pet retail, veterinary, agricultural, and equine markets across Canada.

Remote Location:  Alberta and/or British Columbia (Urban areas preferred)

Job Summary

Responsible for developing, maintaining, and advancing accounts by regularly contacting businesses within the Company’s related industry and within a defined territory. Consults with business owners, managers and their staff regarding products and services available.

Essential Functions: 

Veterinary Equipment and Technology Sales

Coordinates with other Kane/Patterson sales professionals to demonstrate and sell equipment and technology.  Proactively seeks opportunities to discuss equipment and technology solutions based on specific customer needs and emerging trends in the Company’s related industry.  Clearly explains benefits and features of equipment and technology solutions specific to the interests and needs of the customer.  Communicates financial benefits of equipment purchases such as return on investment and tax advantages.

  • Customer Relations & Customer Service

Additional functions

In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may perform the following additional functions.

  • ·Evaluates and supports customer needs and recommends appropriate products and/or solutions by identifying specific product benefits and value to the customer.
  • ·Effectively responds to customer’s objections and overcome barriers to securing customer commitment. 
  • ·Utilize new and creative ways to sell products and services.
  • ·Conducts product demonstrations and presentations.

Job Qualifications

Candidates must possess one or more of the following:

  • University Degree, Animal Health Technician Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Three or more years of experience in business-to-business sales
  • Three or more years of experience in the production and/or companion animal and/or veterinary equipment industry
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Business
  • Proven track record in sales
  • P.C. skills including knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software
  • Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Uses technology with efficiency, including Microsoft 365, Accounting Software and MS Outlook and Excel applications.
  • Experience with excel knowledge.
  • 2 Way and 3 Way match - accounts payable experience
