Branch Manager - Equine (Remote)

Patterson Veterinary Supply is looking for a results-oriented leader with a history of strong sales success, preferably as a leader in the veterinary supply field.  

As a Branch Manager, you will direct and supervise a geographically dispersed outside salesforce. You will play a key role in developing and executing strategies to drive national growth and profitability while providing quality service to our equine customers.

Essential Functions

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining equine sales plan for the branches.

  • Developing and implementing sales/marketing plans.

  • Developing and managing vendor and customer relations.

  • Managing the implementation of the equine sales strategies and tactics.

  • Managing equine key accounts.

  • Define and evaluate issues, develop methods, and revise procedures within established policies.

  • Manages direct reports including the hiring, development, performance management, goal setting, and other managerial duties.

  • Recommend, review and forecast equine sales and expense budgets.

  • Ensures direct reports are aware of and follow established business policies, practices, and Company’s Code of Conduct to create a supportive and productive working environment.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • A four-year college degree.

  • Prior experience in the equine industry.

  • Thorough knowledge of the veterinary industry and vet practices.

  • Prior experience in customer service and dealing directly with customers in a sales capacity.

  • Prior knowledge of sales and asset management.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Financial management experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands

  • Operating a computer or other office devices for the majority of the workday

  • May occasionally need to move packages up to 10 pounds such as office supplies or equipment.

  • Must be able to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and in writing. 

  • Must be able to understand and effectively exchange accurate information with others such as coworkers, customers and vendors.

  • Must be able to read and interpret various electronic and written documents.

Environmental Factors

  • This position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building. The building’s primary work areas consist of desks, chairs, computers and other office equipment and devices for professional services.

Travel and On-call

  • This position requires traveling to customer locations and providing services and support to customers.


The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount would be based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $111,000.00 - $140,000.00
