Project Manager
Primary Location Denton, Texas Job ID R107995 ApplyThe Project Manager will manage projects throughout all stages of the project lifecycle from project initiation through project closure. This position leads and directs small and moderately sized projects, which often require coordination of multiple resources and a small level of functional integration. Responsibilities include execution of standard project deliverables, as required, including: scope documents, resource plans, work breakdown structures, project schedules, communication plans, meeting minutes and status reports. This individual will also assist in the development of process deliverables such as templates, process flows and review procedures. The Project Manager ensures that projects are completed that meet desired scope, quality, budget, and schedule. This position is part-time and is able to be performed remotely or on-site in Denton, TX.
Essential Functions

Operational:
Create and update detailed project plans that outline specific tasks that need to be accomplished to ensure successfully deployed initiatives. Assign tasks and manage their progress to completion, documenting significant variations from originally estimated costs.
Follow established project methodology when creating project plans and implementing solutions. Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel. Manage the successful release of software throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide leadership and support by working with project sponsors and workgroups to analyze information, document critical processes, and identify improvement opportunities. Project Manager works with various departments in the creation and approval of Statements of Work and other required documents.
Identify areas of risk, escalate as appropriate, developing risk mitigation strategies and implement mitigation actions for the risks identified. Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report (lessons learned) in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Partner with business customers, 3rd party vendors (participate in RFI/RFP process, vendor selection) and Patterson staff to develop discipline and corrective actions plans for issues that arise during projects.
Communication:
Effectively communicates the progress of project activities to appropriate personnel to insure their awareness of the activities, the degree of resource investment, and to assure that the project / activities continue to meet operation goals.
Communicate clearly on the factual status of project progress, issues, timelines and implementation metrics.

Recommends process improvements to processes that result in more efficient, cost saving procedures for future projects
Budget:
Budget for projects by leading and gathering cost estimates from internal and external vendors for software, hardware and labor required to implement each project.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or Associates degree
0-2 years of Project Management experience/exposure
Ability to effectively communicate with business leaders and collaborate with cross-department representatives.
Proven success managing small to medium projects (3-6 months in duration) with some cross-department ties (IT and business).
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects, conflicting priorities and schedules simultaneously, meeting all deadlines.
Strong customer service skills, sense of urgency responding to internal and external customers.
Attention to detail producing high quality work products.
Ability to take direction from several individuals and be self-directed.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong positive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Demonstrate best practices in professional relationships.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
PMP
At least 1 years of project management experience

Physical Demands
Operating a computer or other office devices for the majority of the workday
May occasionally need to move packages up to 10 pounds such as office supplies or equipment
Must be able to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and in writing.
Must be able to understand and effectively exchange accurate information with others such as coworkers, customers and vendors
Must be able to read and interpret various electronic and written documents
Environmental Factors
This position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building. The building’s primary work areas consist of desks, chairs, computers and other office equipment and devices for professional services.
