Overview


The Area Operations Manager will support the Regional Operations Director by providing direction and support to select regional Patterson Logistics fulfillment locations to ensure customer expectations and company goals are met.

This position will be responsible for managing various Patterson Logistics fulfillment sites within a region, ensuring sites are meeting operational KPI’s, customer experience, financial oversight, fulfillment of Company objectives and goals and regulatory compliance.


Responsibilities


Customer Experience

  • Ensure area facilities are meeting customer and sale expectations
  • Ensure area facilities are meeting expectations of accurately picked orders
  • Ensure area facilities are processing customer orders in a timely fashion
  • Ensure area facilities have the necessary resources to meet the above expectations

Operational Excellence

  • Continuous Improvement Process to enhance customer experience
  • Effectively manage area operational costs
  • Ensure regulatory compliance is met in all facilities including but not limited to agencies: FDA, DEA, DOT, OSHA, PDMA, SBOP

Financial Controls

  • Budgetary Performance for cumulative area facilities
  • Fiscal budgeting for cumulative area facilities
  • Asset Control for cumulative area facilities
  • Ensure Area Facility Maintenance & PM’s are up-to-date.

Employee Experience

  • Develop performance goals for direct and indirect reports
  • Ensure reports achieve performance goals through feedback and training
  • Develop team bench strength to meet succession planning
  • Hire qualified applicants to fill facility respective exempt and non-exempt roles as required

People Management

  • Encourage the growth of all direct and indirect reports through skill development and goal setting.
  • Hold direct reports accountable for meeting performance standards and departmental performance goals.
  • Mentor staff, measure performance, and complete regular performance reviews.
  • Resolve employee issues in an effective and consistent manner.


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint), Smartphone Applications
  • Oral or written communication skills are crucial
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve, plus build/develop (excel) tools to demonstrate and track.
  • Demonstrated success in prioritizing and time-management
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and execute strategies across a large organization
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business or Operations
  • Fluency with MS Office programs
  • Familiarity with SAP operation functions.

  • Excellent industry knowledge of overall operations distribution, responsibilities, experience, time management and expectations to allow for limited supervision
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Able to lead, communicate, manage and transfer knowledge to others
  • Excellent ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with various applications

Education or Formal Training:

  • College degree preferred, minimum High school diploma or GED required

Experience:

  • Prior operations, warehouse and supervisory management
