Overview


Patterson Companies is seeking a motivated individual for the position of Staff Accountant for Patterson Corporate.  This person will be heavily involved in the month-end close process and ensuring the proper maintenance of accounting controls and processes.  This role will be responsible for a combination of accounting, reporting, analysis and forecasting for Treasury and Credit (Equipment Finance)


Responsibilities


Ongoing responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, AR, AP, debt, etc
  • Performing income statement and balance sheet variance analyses
  • Preparation and/or support of the periodic reporting for our Credit (Equipment Finance) organization
  • Daily preparation and support of the Treasury daily cash positioning and forecasting process (including the tie-out to our longer term balance sheet and free cash flow forecast)
  • Serving as a key contact for the company’s internal and external auditors

Successful candidates will have the following attributes:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to apply them to standard and non-routine transactions
  • Ability to deliver direct, succinct messages that can influence change and be understood by financial and non-financial business partners 
  • Desire to assess processes in order to improve efficiencies and reduce risk

Will perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to apply them to standard and non-routine transactions
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including advanced-intermediate Excel skills
  • Ability to deliver direct, succinct messages that can influence change and be understood by financial and non-financial business partners
  • Desire to assess processes in order to improve efficiencies and reduce risk

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience with SAP
  • CPA not required, but preferred.
