Director if IT PMO
Primary Location Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, Minnesota Job ID R111588 ApplyThe Director, IT Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for leading the organization's IT project management office, establishing project delivery frameworks, financial governance, and portfolio management practices that enable successful execution of enterprise technology initiatives. This role is accountable for directing project and program delivery, overseeing financial governance and budgeting, managing vendor and contract relationships, and ensuring projects and programs achieve business objectives, quality expectations, budget commitments, and delivery timelines.
Essential Functions
- Establish enterprise IT project delivery frameworks, governance, policies, standards, and best practices to drive consistent execution and successful delivery of technology programs and projects while balancing governance, flexibility, and speed
- Lead the execution of a portfolio of IT projects and programs over the entire lifecycle, monitoring interdependencies, risks, resource utilization, and delivery performance across multiple regions and locations to ensure achievement of project objectives, timelines, and quality standards
- Drive adoption of RPA (robotic process automation) solutions across PMO and IT finance operations, optimizing delivery frameworks, financial governance processes, and transactional workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Provide strategic oversight for project planning, prioritization, workload distribution, and project team effectiveness to align technology investments and delivery commitments with organizational goals and ensure rigorous governance and risk management
- Lead IT financial governance activities, including budgeting (e.g., OPEX/CAPEX budgeting), forecasting, financial reporting, investment allocation, account ledger allocation and budget performance for assigned projects, programs, and portfolio initiatives
- Optimize end-to-end vendor processes, including onboarding, billing, legal contract review, reconciliation, statement-of-work execution, and contract negotiations to ensure effective vendor performance, financial accountability, and business value realization
- Act as the central point of communication between cross-functional project teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership, communicating project status, driving alignment, issue resolution, executive reporting, and program readiness
- Establish reporting and monitoring processes that provide consolidated project, program, and financial performance data to leadership and support informed decision-making across the technology portfolio
- Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned
People Management
- Accountable for team staffing and managing direct reports to include development, performance management, goal setting, and other managerial duties
- Ensures direct reports are aware of and follow ethical business practices and Company’s Code of Conduct to maintain a supportive and productive working environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, or related field; or equivalent education and/or experience
- 10 years of progressive experience in project management, program management, project portfolio management, PMO leadership, or related field
- 5 years of leadership or people management experience
Preferred Requirements
- PMO certification or equivalent
- Experience with CPQ, CRM, and fleet or logistics systems
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication, influencing, and facilitation skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships, influence decision-making, and communicate effectively with technical teams, business partners, and executive leadership
- Demonstrated expertise in SAP S/4HANA Private and Public Cloud implementations, with the ability to lead enterprise programs through the full project lifecycle
- Proficiency with project portfolio management and collaboration tools, including Microsoft 365, Atlassian Jira, and related PMO technologies
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise ERP program management within large, multi-site organizations, including oversight of complex, multimillion-dollar technology initiatives
- Demonstrated experience with robotic process automation (RPA) technologies and the ability to identify, prioritize, and deliver automation solutions across program management and financial operations
- Advanced knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies, with the ability to design and apply appropriate governance and execution frameworks
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to coordinate and influence distributed teams across multiple regions, business units, and offshore delivery locations

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $157,300.00 - $209,833.33
