The Lead Security Engineer - SAP is accountable for leading the successful implementation of products or projects, including design, development, documentation, and testing of new or changed software applications. As a technical product expert, this role is responsible for driving design and implementation, optimizing systems, maintaining best practices, and mentoring employees.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of integrated end-to-end solutions; facilitate integration across related dependencies while ensuring scalability, security and usability, high quality code and adherence to best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define a technical roadmap for the product aligned to business objectives; review functional specifications for solutions and provide input to architecture, security, and data standards
  • Act as a primary technical resource for product managers, designers, and other stakeholders; provide product support for complex technical issues
  • Partner with product teams and stakeholders on goal and priorities, contribute to roadmap planning, and provide technical solution consultation
  • Develop seamless and efficient data integration processes; review for data accuracy and consistency and resolve any issues that arise
  • Maintain knowledge of industry technical and innovative trends; evaluate new tools and methodologies, identify improvement opportunities, and propose improvements or new features to maintain best practices and optimize systems
  • Provide time and resource estimates for project completion, timely status updates, documentation, and overall support of assigned projects
  • Maintain thorough documentation (e.g., system configurations, procedures) and facilitate knowledge transfer
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to team members on best practices, technical excellence, and business knowledge
  • Coordinate implementation efforts and partner with others to establish, maintain, and identify and mitigate risk to implementation schedules
  • Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related area or equivalent education and/or experience
  • 7 years progressive IT architecture experience in enterprise-wide programs/solutions and
  • 7 years Combined experience in platform configuration, integration design, software development, and/or system architecture and
  • 7 years SAP: experience in SAP architecture and development, including (ABAP, Fiori/UI5, and SAP integration frameworks) and
  • Security architecture for SAP On-prem and Cloud Applications
  • Design, Build and Rollout of Security for SAP Applications
  • Experience with data management (SAP HANA, SQL) and reporting tools
  • Experience with SAP GRC Access control, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and authentication solutions
  • Experience design monitoring processes and controls to mitigate risks related to segregation of duties (SOD) and Sarbanes Oxley(SOX) 
  • Experience with SAP Single Sign-on, Azure AD, Kerberos and other Authentication mechanisms 


Skills and Abilities

  • Deep knowledge of SAP solutions covering Wholesale Distribution, Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Experience in stakeholder management and influencing decisions; ability to adapt to changing needs and resolve conflict effectively
  • Strong analytical, problem-resolution, decision-making, organization, time management, facilitation, and process management skills
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and technical teams; proven skills in negotiation, collaboration, advocacy, governance, and consensus building
  • Ability to apply technical principles, methods, and tools to varied business and technology challenges and align technology with business processes and objectives
  • Ability to analyze across a range of platforms and applications and see interconnections between organizational systems
  • Knowledge of security, scalability, and maintainability principles and software development lifecycles and best practices

If the person hired is located within 50 miles of Mendota Heights, MN or Loveland, CO it will be 2 days in the office hybrid model.


The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount would be based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $120,200.00 - $150,300.00
