Leave Analyst
Primary Location Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, Minnesota Job ID R108756 ApplyThe Leave Analyst is responsible for the administration of employee leaves and to consult on related company policies. This role is also accountable to ensure leave, time-off, and accommodation requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner by the third-party administrator. In addition, this role monitors leave regulations and recommends changes to internal policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Essential Functions
Oversee leave case management, in partnership with the third-party administrator (TPA), to ensure accurate end-to-end processing and administration; provide guidance to employees, as necessary, on the leave and/or accommodation processes
Review employee leave statuses and payment advise reports to ensure accurate and timely payment; resolve any issues with the third-party administrator to maintain compliance of the company’s leave policies
Respond to employee and manager leave and time-off inquiries to include preparing for leave, duration and frequency of leave, type of leaves/time-off, etc. and resolve any conflicts and issues that arise
Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local leave-related laws (e.g., paid leave/disability, sick time) and industry trends to manage risk of non-compliance and recommend best practices; assist with the implementation of any necessary changes
Collaborate cross-functionally, internally and externally (e.g., managers, HRBPs, TPA, Legal, Risk), to ensure that leaves, time-off, and accommodations are documented and administered in compliance with policies and regulations
Reconcile leave of absence data between the TPA’s system and records in Workday to include both employee record and payroll data
Accountable to administer the application of other time-off programs (e.g., paid-time-off, volunteer time) to maintain accurate employee data; may provide guidance to employees and HR Business Partners on company policy and practices
Provide timely and accurate reporting to the Total Rewards teams on leaves and accommodations as needed
Evaluate and recommend process and technology improvements to enhance the reliability and administration efficiency of time-off programs and data
Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with developing and updating leaves related communications and education materials to enhance understanding of policies and programs
Assist in policy development and refinement
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent education and/or experience
2 years Experience in leaves administration and
Experience working with an outsourced program / third-party administrator for paid leave and accommodations
Skills and Abilities
Ability to effectively assess and coordinate elements from various (and frequently changing) sources of information
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and empathetically across all levels of the organization and clearly explain attributes and guidelines of leaves policies
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Proficient understanding of systems design (internal and vendor partners) to effectively integrate end-to-end leave process
Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, and other applicable state and federal leave laws; ability to apply to internal leave and time-off programs
Time management skills, ability to problem-solve, and willingness to adapt to changing priorities to meet deadlines
Strong business ethics including the protection of proprietary and confidential information

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount would be based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $58,900.00 - $72,200.00
