The Workday Developer is responsible for integrations between Workday and various other Patterson technologies and vendor systems. The Developer will also contribute to and execute on the data and analytics strategy for Human Resources as we mature our reporting and analytics capabilities within the Workday ecosystem. This role will be hands on with creating reports and delivering data and insights for various business needs, while also supporting the maturation of the data and analytics function by implementing processes to drive consistency, compliance, and efficiency.

Work with appropriate stakeholders and vendors to understand requirements in order to develop and maintain integrations between Workday and other systems, such as: benefits providers, learning content providers, stock and retirement providers, as well as internal downstream systems
Design, build, test, and deploy Workday Integration solutions using Custom Reports, EIB, Core Connectors, Document Transformations, XSLT and Workday Studio
Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis, coding, clear documentation, and problem resolution
Perform routine break/fix support and regression testing and support the inbound/outbound interfaces to the system and middleware
Lead integration testing activities associated with twice-yearly Workday releases
Collaborate with other technology team members to identify cross-functional impacts and troubleshoot production issues
Create and maintain a knowledge base related to Workday integrations
Data & Analytics
Develop and execute a data management plan to ensure consistent use of data fields, data integrity and accuracy, report maintenance, and proper data classification and security
Intake and prioritize reporting requests, recommending appropriate delivery of data (i.e. dashboards vs. report vs. slides) based on audience and how the data will be used
Develop and maintain simple to complex Workday reports, including matrix and composite reports, utilizing Workday Report Writer and Report Designer
Analyze, design, and build new custom reports using standard Workday reporting functionality (ex: Report Writer, Calculated Fields)
Present data and insights in a clear and concise manner, allowing the user to quickly understand the results and recommendations to facilitate data driven decision-making
Develop user friendly, in-application reporting for our HR team and Managers, reducing the amount of time spent on ad-hoc reporting requests
Support continued education to various audiences in the form of training, job aids, etc.
Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
At least 4 years of Workday experience, including:At least 2 years of experience developing Workday integrations using the following: Workday Studio, Web Services / APIs, XSLT, EIB, Workday Extend Application Development, WSDL, Workday Configurable Security, and iLoad and at least 2 years of experience with Workday system administration, security, and complex reporting (e.g., BIRT reports, dashboards, worksheets, slides, drive, matrix, composite, calculated fields) using report development tools like Business Objects, Crystal, & Workday Report Writer
Experience with designing and implementing ETL processes and the use of ETL tools such as Informatica
Strong experience with interface, networking, and data warehousing technologies, as well as design, relational database technologies, and performance tuning
Strong technical experience with XML and Java
Understand basic database architecture, tables, functional interactions, and recognize and understand impacts to downstream systems
Experience in optimizing and supporting processes and maintenance of master data
Reporting and data analysis experience, including presenting data insights in a meaningful way
MS Excel experience utilizing Pivot Tables, Power Pivots, Charts, Conditional Formatting, creating formulas and utilizing Excel prebuilt formulas, V-Lookups, and File Joins.
Knowledge of basic HR and Payroll concepts and business cycles
Strong understanding of Workday architecture, security model, business processes framework. Workday Pro certification preferred.
Experience partnering with Human Resource Professionals regarding their human capital data needs for HR processes (e.g. performance management, engagement survey, succession planning, etc.) and overall talent lifecycle (e.g. talent acquisition, terminations, onboarding, etc.)
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle daily planned and unplanned operational activities
Demonstrated skill in attention to detail and accuracy with data
Experience with Discovery Boards, Prism, and Workday Extend a plus
Experience with ServiceNow and scrum project methodology a plus
This role is open to primarily remote work with the requirement to come into the corporate office in Mendota Heights, MN a couple times a month.
