Responsibilities

Who are we looking for as a Service Technician? Patterson Dental is looking for a worker who is interested in the field of bio-medical (dental) device and equipment repair.  

Service Technician Overview: As a Service Technician, you provide repair and installation on a variety of dental equipment and products. The Service Technician learns and follows manufacturer guidelines relative to the repair of devices. Training is supplied by mentorship program with the branch technicians, manufacturers and online training courses. Why join Patterson? Essential Functions

  • Determines the equipment, parts, supplies or tools needed to complete the install and service requests.

  • Relays any special problems to Service Coordinator following each call.

  • Ensures that standard response times committed to the Service Coordinator are met.

  • Loads, delivers, installs, specs and trains customers on the use and basic maintenance of equipment sold.

  • Learns and follows specific manufacturer guidelines for equipment installs and troubleshooting.

  • Completes all required paperwork (time sheets, service orders, BRH forms, inventory, expense reports and/or purchase card statements or equipment related items).

  • Returns defective modules assemblies or parts to the local office and labels items.

  • Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and safe driving habits are followed.

  • Manages vehicle inventory and restocks as necessary.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job qualifications:

  • Diploma in electronics/electromechanics, or any other relevant experience.

  • Valid driver’s license and in order required.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Motivated team player and good manual skills.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in repair field in a dental/medical environment.

  • Carpentry/plumbing/heating/electricity/electronics related experience is an asset.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in French and English.

Fonctions essentielles :

  • Déterminer les pièces, les fournitures et les outils nécessaires pour compléter la demande d’installation.

  • Communiquer tout problème inhabituel au chargé de projet du service technique suivant chaque appel.

  • S'assure que les délais de réponse standard confirmés au coordonnateur de service sont respectés.

  • Charger, livrer, installer, configurer et former les clients sur l'utilisation et l'entretien de base de l'équipement installé.

  • Apprendre et suivre les directives spécifiques du fabricant pour l'installation et le dépannage de l'équipement.

  • Remplir toute la documentation requise (feuilles de temps, ordres de service, formulaires du Bureau de la radioprotection, rapports d'inventaire et de dépenses, relevés de carte de crédit et documents liés aux équipements).

  • S'assure que l'entretien du véhicule et les habitudes de conduite sécuritaires sont suivis.

  • Retourner les modules ou les pièces défectueuses au siège social et bien identifier les articles.

  • Maintenir et approvisionner le stock de pièces du camion.

  • Exécuter toute autre tâche qui lui est assignée.

Formation et compétences :

  • Diplôme d’études en électronique/ électromécanique, ou toute autre expérience pertinente.

  • Permis de conduire valide et dossier de conduite en règle.

  • Excellent sens de l’organisation et bonne aptitude pour la résolution de problèmes.

  • Travailleur motivé ayant un bon esprit d’équipe et une habileté manuelle.

  • Détenir 2 à 3 ans d’expérience de travail en installation d’équipement, en environnement dentaire ou médical un atout.

  • Expériences liées à la menuiserie, la plomberie, le chauffage, l’électricité ou l’électronique un atout

  • Aptitude développée pour le service à la clientèle.

  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit.
