The Warehouse Associate strives to exceed customer expectations by ensuring orders are available, accurate, and received in a timely manner. This is a distribution center environment where you can expect to fill the orders, check the orders, and pack the orders to send to our customers. Warehouse Associates have a Monday-Friday schedule in a climate controlled environment with a relaxed dress code. We are looking for people to fill this important and essential role that are team players and have the ability to meet deadlines and productivity goals.

Responsibilities

Job summary

Patterson Dental is currently looking for a determined and resourceful person to join our dynamic shipping team. The employee will be responsible for packaging and filling parcels to be sent out, as well as labelling packed orders and boxes to ship out. Reporting to their team leader, they will, according to instructions, perform tasks such as:

Essential Functions

  • Handles all shipments exiting the warehouse according to predetermined requirements (packaging, labelling and documentation).

  • Being able to lift loads of 25kg.

  • Unloads conveyors and palletizes packages.

  • Informs supervisor of nonconforming products (count, damaged goods, etc.).

  • Keeps passageways within the shipping department clear and ensures that orders sent out are complete.

  • Follows the distribution centre’s safety, maintenance and cleaning standards.

  • Follows and applies all loss prevention procedures.

  • Inputs into computer systems all information related to the goods entering and leaving the distribution centre.

  • Ensures that merchandise is in good condition before shipping out the order.

  • Executes all other assigned or required tasks.

Job qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • The applicant must be able to read and to understand the department’s procedures and documentation related to warehouse safety, as well as to follow work instructions within the department.

  • Work experience within a warehouse, preferably in a shipping, order processing, reception or customer service position.

  • Very good planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a disciplined and professional manner.

  • Detail-oriented and thorough.  

  • Able to communicate easily in French.

  • Forklift operator experience an asset.

  • Knowledge of SAP software an asset.

Patterson Dentaire est à la recherche d’une personne déterminée et débrouillarde afin de compléter son équipe dynamique à l’expédition. L’employé(e) effectuera l’emballage et le garnissage des colis à expédier ainsi que l’étiquetage des commandes emballées et des cartons à expédier. Sous la responsabilité du chef d’équipe, exécuter, selon les informations, des tâches telles que:

Fonctions essentielles

  • Traiter toutes les cargaisons qui sortent de l'entrepôt selon les exigences prédéterminées (emballage, étiquetage, et documents).

  • Être en mesure de soulever des charges de 25kg.

  • Décharger les convoyeurs et palettiser les colis.

  • Aviser le superviseur de la non-conformité des produits (dénombrement, produits endommagés, etc.)

  • Garder les allées du service de l'expédition dégagées et assurer l'intégrité des commandes à expédier.

  • Respecter les normes de sécurité, d'entretien et de nettoyage du centre de distribution.

  • Respecter et mettre en application les processus de prévention des pertes.

  • Consigner à l'ordinateur toute l'information relative à la marchandise qui entre et qui sort du centre de distribution.

  • S'assurer du bon état de la marchandise avant l'expédition de la commande.

  • Effectuer d'autres tâches demandées ou requises.

Formation et compétences

  • Diplôme d'études secondaires ou l'équivalent, de préférence.

  • Le candidat doit être capable de lire et de comprendre le processus du service et les documents sur la sécurité dans l'entrepôt, de même que de suivre les directives de travail au sein du service.

  • Expérience de travail en entrepôt, de préférence à l'expédition, au traitement des commandes, à la réception ou au service à la clientèle.

  • Très bon sens de la planification et de l'organisation.

  • Capacité de travailler avec rigueur et professionnalisme.

  • Être orienté vers la précision et la minutie.

  • Capacité à communiquer aisément en français.

  • Connaissance de l’anglais un atout.

  • Expérience de cariste un atout.

  • Connaissance du logiciel SAP un atout.
