Supervisor-On-boarding Specialist

Overview


Manages all new hire activities within the Fulfillment Center operations including but not limited to leading interview processes, planning, implementing and monitoring warehouse training operations, building and monitoring relationships with new employees, and providing coverage for onboarding within the facility.  This position works to understand the hiring needs and effectively execute the recruitment and retention strategies for a successful employee experience at the facility in partnership with the Fulfillment Center Manager, Department Manager and Supervisors to understand and support the achievement of the facility goals for cost, quality, and safety.


Responsibilities


Talent Operations

  • Track, analyze and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for new hires
  • Provides both full-cycle and partial-cycle recruiting support within the location
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition to develop a talent attraction strategy
  • Promotes diversity and inclusion, and an equitable work environment for all employees
  • Advocates and drives for best-in-class candidate experience
  • Manages candidates in an online applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Understand all company policies and procedures, communicate information with new hires

Talent Management

  • In collaboration with the FC Manager, Department Manager and supervisors, manages all staffing functions (interviewing, hiring, orientation, assignment of duties, training, cross-training, personnel development, performance reviews and discipline).
  • Through pro-active engagement create a positive first, second and third impression from interview through introductory period for all new employees at the facility
  • Periodically meet with new hire(s) direct supervisor through introductory period to compare observations regarding objective and subjective performance results and provide recommendations regarding continued employment, including 30-60-90 day check-ins
  • Document and retain records of all meetings with new hire(s) and leadership
  • Review batting average reports and oversee action plans for performance improvements.
  • Develop and maintain succession training plans for all new hires
  • Manage the training and documentation processes for all areas
  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiencies of the employee warehouse program; submit annual recommendations to senior management for metric (LPH/LPE) adjustments.
  • Encourage and support the growth of all employees through skill development and goal setting.
  • Hold new hires accountable for meeting performance standards and departmental performance goals.
  • Resolve employee issues in an effective and consistent manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

Physical Demands: This position requires frequent continuous physical activity

  • May have the potential to be on your feet both walking and in a standing position more than 6 hours per day

Environmental Factors:

The fulfillment center is a warehouse for the storage and distribution of dental, production animal, and companion animal supplies and equipment.  In general, the building’s primary work area consists of pallet storage racking, roller storage and small item storage shelving.  The facility uses powered conveyor systems for the transportation of products. Pallet jacks and forklifts are used for palletized products. Some positions require use of safety equipment, which is provided as needed.

This position requires two trips per year within the United States of America.



Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership responsibility.
  • Proven soft skills – analytical, problem solving, communication, interpersonal
  • Organized, strong attention to detail, and follow through on
  • Demonstrated success in prioritizing and time-management

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 1 or more years in a Fulfillment Center or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in SAP
  • Fulfillment center/warehouse leadership experience
  • Previous experience managing a team of employees
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System/ATS
