As a Telephone Sales Representative, you will function as a Territory Manager by maintaining and increasing sales within an assigned territory. You will facilitate interactions with assigned territories in the areas of accounts receivable, customer service, and order processing and will actively solicit potential and inactive accounts to increase and expand territory sales.
The Telephone Sales Rep (TSR) for Merchant Solutions is responsible for driving growth by identifying, prospecting, and closing new opportunities within designated territories or industry verticals. This role will engage directly with business owners, executives and decision makers by building strategic relationships to deliver customized payment solutions that integrate with existing software, hardware and operational systems. The ideal candidate brings a consultative approach to sales, a strong understanding of digital payments landscape, and the ability to tailor solutions that align with each client's unique operational and financial goals
Essential Functions
Generate Sales:
* Make regular outbound calls as necessary to grow the sales in the portfolio of accounts assigned.
* Solicit new customers and grow existing business by demonstrating and offering Value Added products and services.
* Cultivate and develop business opportunities and generate referrals from current customers and manufacturers' representatives.
* Execute Sales Promotions and selling strategies at the account and territory level to deliver revenue and profit goals.
* Maintain a current knowledge of consumer preferences, company products, programs, market conditions, and competition.
* Support the product education of key vendors and customer personnel through continuing education efforts.
* Gain understanding of and adhere to Accounts Receivables policies and practices.
* Meet revenue and profit performance and expense management objectives established for position.
* Interface with key vendor personnel regularly to identify customer needs and suggest solutions.Customer Relations:
* Maintain strong working relationships across the business/functions, as well as with customers and manufacturing partners.
* Provide impeccable customer service and sales support: respond to customer queries, answer questions and solve problems in a timely fashion.
* Collaborate and partner with the Inside Sales Team and assist in answering phones and taking orders when seeing a high call volume.
* Complete all assigned call reporting follow-up reports and submit as needed.
* Communicate customer issues, opportunities and needs to the appropriate internal and external personnel.
* Possess the ability to multitask and work within multiple computer systems and communication platforms simultaneously.
* May perform other Inside Sales Representative duties as assigned.Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned
Essential Functions: Animal Health - Companion
Identify, pursue, and close new merchant-services opportunities through a combination of referrals, outbound prospecting, and field engagement.
Conduct consultative needs assessments with business owners and executives to determine payment-acceptance requirements and recommend tailored solutions.
Deliver persuasive, value-based presentations, demonstrate ROI, technology advantages, and operational benefits.
Manage a sales pipeline using CRM tools (e.g., Zoho) to forecast, track, and report on activity.
Partner with internal onboarding, underwriting, and support teams to ensure smooth activation and high client satisfaction.
Develop and maintain relationships with channel partners, referral sources, and internal cross-functional teams.
Maintain awareness of competitor offerings, pricing, and market positioning.
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales and volume targets.
Represent the company at trade shows, regional events, and industry conferences as needed.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Proven track record of success in consultative, quota-based sales environment
Preferred Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
3 years sales and customer service experience
3 years Prior sales experience
Experience in animal health/agriculture
Prior experience in merchant services, payments, or SaaS solution sales
Skills and Abilities
Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
Accuracy and strong attention to detail
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
General computer proficiency including knowledge of MS Office
Proficiency in SAP or related ERP
Prior experience in merchant services, payments, or SaaS solution sales.
Experience selling integrated or embedded payments within software ecosystems.
Knowledge of PCI DSS, risk underwriting processes, and merchant-onboarding workflows.
Background in SaaS or FinTech environments, particularly serving SMB or mid-market clients.
Established professional network in industries such as healthcare, veterinary, dental, professional services, or related fields
