Technology Service Technician

Job summary

Our Halifax branch is currently seeking a Technology Service Technician with an interest in repairing biomedical (dental) devices and equipment, particularly in the area of digital dental technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of advanced dental systems, while adhering to manufacturer guidelines and company standards.

Major Duties

  • Independently respond to assigned customer service calls in a timely manner and assess technical issues related to specific modules or components.
  • Identify required parts, supplies, and tools to complete service requests efficiently.
  • Deliver, install, configure, and provide basic training to customers on the use and maintenance of installed dental equipment, including digital dental technologies.
  • Use, maintain, and secure test equipment and tools for calibrating and repairing dental systems.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including time sheets, service orders, Radiation Protection Bureau forms, inventory, and expense reports.
  • Return defective modules or parts to the head office, accompanied by the appropriate identification.
  • Maintain a well-stocked inventory of parts and tools.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job qualifications

  • Diploma in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Atlantic Canada.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented individual with good manual dexterity and technical aptitude.
  • 2–3 years of experience with TCP/IP networking.
  • 2–3 years of experience in field repair work, ideally in dental, medical, or biomedical environments.
  • Experience in electronics required.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with the SAP platform is an asset.
