Pharmacy Technician
Primary Location Manchester, Iowa Job ID R107744 ApplyA Pharmacy Technician for Animal Health International is uniquely different from a Retail Pharmacy Technician. The role involves processing orders on the computer for half the day and handling warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, and labeling drug orders for the other half.
There are no in-person customer transactions.
Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
No weekends, evenings or holidays
Job Summary
Assist in the daily operation of the pharmacy by performing tasks under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Perform all warehouse and pharmacy duties including receiving, entering prescriptions, picking, counting, labeling, packing and tracking inventory.
This role assists in the daily operation of the pharmacy by performing effective, safe and efficient tasks and responsibilities assigned to the pharmacy.
Under the direction of the pharmacist this role will ensure Patterson Companies customers receive medications meeting all applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Functions
Transact all business in accordance to Animal Health International Inc.’s business code of ethics and conduct
Align with the Company’s Mission, Guiding Principles, Values, Goals and Objectives
Perform all warehouse and pharmacy duties including picking, packing, receiving, counting, labeling, and tracking inventory
Use all of the warehouse/pharmacy equipment/machinery
Achieve assigned performance metrics and KPIs - Interact with Veterinarians and Pharmacists - Document ana report all discrepancies, damages and errors
Proofread, generate, and apply drug labels under the supervision of a Pharmacist
Help maintain a secure, organized, clean, and safe warehouse/pharmacy
Handle all hazardous materials, pesticides, and prescription drugs according to the Company’s processes/procedures and all applicable laws and regulations

Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and objectives while working effectively with other team members

Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Good computer skills with various applications
Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience
Attention to detail with ability to problem solve effectively
Good organization and administrative skills
Ability to take and pass the exam to become a certified pharmacy technician with the state Board of Pharmacy
Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Health career Association (NHA)
College degree or vocational school certification
Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience
Background in pharmacy dispensing process should seek clarification from their manager.
