Cash Application Specialist

The Cash Application Specialist I will be responsible for timely processing of all incoming customer payments including lockbox, wires, credit card, and E-payment. Processing will include both balance forward and invoice specific application. The Cash Application Specialist I will also be responsible for processing customer adjustments, write-offs, debits, credits, seminar/training fees and services charges.  Role will require frequent communication with Account Specialists and branch personnel. The Cash Application Specialist I will report directly to the Cash Application Supervisor.     

Essential Functions

  • Daily Order to Cash transaction processing for all customer segments and all payment types. 

  • Review and resolve unapplied payments.

  • Notify Account Specialists of NSF payments and handle associated system charge-back of payment. 

  • Effectively manage transaction processing accurately and efficiently

  • Ensure that all activities are performed in the most efficient and effective manner possible

In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may perform the following additional functions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong customer orientation

  • Exhibits organizational, problem solving, multi-tasking skills, attention to detail, and basic decision making authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • SAP experience

Physical Demands

  • Operating a computer or other office devices for the majority of the workday

  • May occasionally need to move packages up to 10 pounds such as office supplies or equipment

  • Must be able to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and in writing. 

  • Must be able to understand and effectively exchange accurate information with others such as coworkers, customers and vendors

  • Must be able to read and interpret various electronic and written documents.


The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount would be based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $18.37 - $22.50
