Job Summary:

TheCommunity Impact Internisa key member of the team that is enabling and sharing Patterson’s philanthropy with employees, partners, and stakeholders. This positionisresponsible forsupportingtwomain functions within Patterson:The Patterson Foundation and the Corporate Giving department. Partnering with the Sr. Managerand Grants Officeron both functions, this role willsupportthe Patterson Foundation’s grantmaking and programming details related to the grants process and award distribution, event planning activities related to fundraising events, and provide basic reporting and documentation support. The Corporate Giving department will value this role’s participation in supporting national and local volunteer partnerships, employee engagement reporting, and basic process documentation.

Essential Functions (Major Duties):

Patterson Foundation

  • Community Grants 

  • Manage the administrative needs of our community grants program through our onlinegrantsmanagement system.

  • Schedule grant check presentations with Patterson team members, Board members, and nonprofit partners.

  • Ensure all parties have the materials needed for grant check presentation meetings.

  • Schedulecoaching calls for grant partners who have been denied by our program officer. 

  • Manage the Patterson Foundation inbox,monitoring foremployeereferrals, Dollars for Doers requests,andanswering grantee partners’ questionsabout updating contact information in our system and any application questions

  • Donor Management and Fundraising 

  • Executeplansfor local and nationalvirtual and in-personfundraising events and activities in partnership with the Sr. Manager. 

  • Solicit silent auction items from a variety of sources. Collect and document the available itemsusing thesilent auction website and mobile app.Manage the close of the silent auction, including all payment processing and communication.

  • Executing onthe fundraising strategy set by the Sr. Manager, print and ship signage and marketing collateral for fundraising events and activities.

  • Generalprogramsupport duties for live events and meetings.

Corporate Giving

  • Employee Volunteerism

  • Manage the Dollars for Doers requests and completemonthlyreports on the progressand trends

  • Complete regular volunteer reporting and create executive-level reporting templates. 

  • Manage an ongoing calendar of volunteer opportunities on Inside/Patterson and share the opportunities with the Take FIVE Volunteering team.

  • Communicate Inside/Patterson updates and other communication updatesregardingvolunteerism to the Corporate Marketing team.

  • Execute event details for Patterson’s Giving Week, including, but not limited to, scheduling planning meetings, sharing planning materials, coordinating a communication plan with all Patterson stakeholders (building maintenance, Tax, sourcing, etc.), coordinating activities with vendors, and more. 

  • General Duties for the Foundation and Corporate Giving

  • Complete the Foundation’s database entry and other database work as assigned.

  • Prepare andsubmitcheck orders, payment invoices, and reports. Manage allaccountspayable requests between the Patterson Foundation and Patterson (and vice versa).

  • Assistwith stewardship efforts to thank our donors

  • Responsible for filing andmaintainingoffice documentation. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degreepursuit:with majors thatdirectly relatetophilanthropy,development, nonprofit management, marketing, and communications. 

  • Working knowledge ofMicrosoft products. Specialpreferencewill be given to those thatdemonstratea working knowledge of CRMs. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.

  • Ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment.

  • Recent experience volunteering or partnering with a nonprofit organization.


The starting pay for this role is $20 - $25 per hour.
