Job Summary
The Data Developer II is responsible for supporting Patterson Companies' data strategy through the design, development, and maintenance of data products. This role will acquire data using various batch and real-time data acquisition techniques, leverage on-premise and cloud data storage technologies for data modeling, and utilize push and pull techniques to support delivery of data to downstream systems and users. The result of this role's work will allow users to effectively leverage data across Patterson Companies; including using a report, building an analytical model, or sharing data between solutions to support a business process.
Essential Functions
- Identify data sources and targets to support business needs and processes
- Design, build, verify, implement and maintain code / jobs to acquire or model data
- Prepare project and system related documentation consistent with standards and procedures outlined in the data architecture approach including data quality, security and availability requirements.
- Participate in updating ETL jobs, performance tuning, optimization, establishing metrics and IS initiatives with impact on data.
- Be a champion for and build solutions using a modern data integration architecture that is event driven and API-led.
- Collaborate with Analysts, Application Developers, Quality Assurance Analysts, Database Administrators and Data Architects.
- Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- 5 years industry experience with data development, including data warehousing, data engineering, business intelligence development
- 3 years SQL experience
- 1 year implementing modern data pipelines using a combination of Virtualization, APIs, Events and ELT techniques.
Preferred Requirements
- 1 year SAP HANA development experience
- 1 year MS Azure Data Factory and Logic Apps experience
- 1 year MS Azure DevOps experience
Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Good knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications
- DP-700: Microsoft Certified Fabric Data Engineering Workloads Preferred or
- similar training/certification
The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount would be based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $77,200.00 - $94,500.00
