International Shipping Program Manager

Job Summary
The International Shipping Program Manager is responsible for the technical, analytical, and operational guidance for trade compliance across business units to ensure compliance with relevant customs regulations. Accountable for process improvement, audits, and analytics of export and import transactions by collaborating with Supply Chain, Regulatory, customs brokers, and government agencies.
Essential Functions
- Ensure customs clearances are completed efficiently through the development of metrics, KPI reporting, tracking of disclosures, duty drawback, etc.
- Assist third-party vendors (i.e., Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders) to resolve processes and logistical issues during import, export, and customs clearances and to provide operational guidance and technical assistance
- Prepare shipment documentation and customs forms for efficient and lawful execution of all import and export activities, including Commercial Invoices, Shipper Letters of Instruction, Packing Lists, and any other supporting documentation
- Identify transactions that require special handling and provide recommendations on process changes to stakeholders including leadership
- Maintain Customs Classification data and related files for import and export transactions; ensure data is audit ready and participate in audits as assigned
- Accountable to address compliance requirements (e.g., 19 CFR and 15 CFR) by ensuring accuracy with HTSUS and ECCN classifications including 19CFR, 15CFR, FDA, USDA, and other US and Canadian regulatory agency requirements
- Collaborate with Product Master Data for data accuracy on process improvements; conduct audits and follow up with Master Data team accordingly
- Audit import and export transactions, including documentation, values, Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes, Country of Origin, etc.; findings from the review may lead to process changes, training or other counter measures
- Document processes, influence policy for import and export operations, and recommend and implement process improvements
- Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience
- 5 years of work experience as a Logistics Specialist, Import and Export Coordinator, Trade Compliance Specialist, or similar roles
Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of import, export and trade
- Understanding of logistical, transportation and customs clearance processes
- Knowledge and ability to self-classify products (HTS), write defendable classifications using GRIs and navigate tariff schedules from different countries
- Willingness to work in an environment where individual initiative and accountability to the team are required with limited day-to-day supervision
- A self-starter, proactive, flexible, with strong interpersonal skills essential for effective interaction with all teams, areas, and levels of the business
- MS Office, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP
- Demonstrated analytical ability

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount would be based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $75,300.00 - $92,200.00
