Senior Category Manager - Restorative
Primary Location Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, Minnesota Job ID R110981 ApplyThe Sr. Category Manager will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of marketing initiatives as the primary contact for assigned category, at Patterson Dental Supply, Inc. Formulates the development of objectives, programs and promotional activity of assigned category, responsible for private label growth and objectives of assigned category.

Create and implement marketing initiatives to promote category sales and gross margin to meet company objectives,
Analyze category, measure results and growth of category, monitor and support individual branch performance,
Analyze syndicated external data to determine industry and consumer trends,
Collaborate with manufacturer partners, negotiate special terms and programs, create internal and external marketing pieces, and manage the communication and implementation to the Patterson Dental field sales team.
Identify private label opportunities and additions by category, ad SKUs to meet company objectives,
Develop educational support programs incorporating both product knowledge and selling strategies,
Partner with integrated marketing team to develop and implement digital strategies,
Serve as an event management contact for corporate office staff and field for conventions and tradeshows; coordinate team efforts with manufacturer reps to maximize return on investment,
Responsible for private label products within assigned category,
Manage and incorporate marketing efforts with logistics and finance to ensure maximized capitalization on vendor advertising allowances,
As a part of asset management, create and support systems to minimize investment in inventory display plans and distribution centers
People Management
Manages direct reports including the hiring, development, performance management, goal setting, and other managerial duties.
Ensures direct reports are aware of and follow established business policies, practices, and Company’s Code of Conduct to create a supportive and productive working environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or comparable business field
Minimum of 6+ years of product marketing and/or product management experience
Proven track record of managing complex projects
Demonstrated record collaborating with cross-functional teams
Effective interpersonal communication and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced changing environment -- multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
Has good organizational and problem-solving skills
Shows a great attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with technology products in the dental industry
Experience in partnering with vendors and/or sales organizations
Experience in mobile/cloud technologies
Experience working with digital strategy/web analytics
Strong analytical capabilities
Strong written communication skills
Physical Demands
Operating a computer or other office devices for the majority of the workday
May occasionally need to move packages up to 10 pounds such as office supplies or equipment
Environmental Factors
- This position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building. The building’s primary work areas consist of desks, chairs, computers and other office equipment and devices for professional services
Travel and On-call
- This position requires 20% or less domestic travel
The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount would be based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $96,500.00 - $120,600.00
