The Compliance Specialist I is responsible for strictly adhering to all compliance and regulatory standard operating procedures as part of the order filling process for controlled substances (C3-C5). This position will demonstrate order fulfillment task goals are conducted accurately, efficiently, and safely, while surpassing customer expectations.

Receive and put away controlled substances and List 1 products
ARCOS administration (DEA database to record any product movements)
DEA registration validation
Pick, pack and check DEA orders
DEA cage Inventory Management (cycle count, quarantine, damages, investigating discrepancies)
Escalate issues & questions as directed (participate in investigations)
Reporting theft and loss to the DEA (who should be responsible for this?)
Accurate recording keeping and compliance with record retention policies as directed
Participate in audits as requested
Engage in continuous improvement as directed
Attend all required training
Preparing and shipping controls for reverse distribution process
Process returns
Communicate with non-PLSI business partners on controlled substance matters.
Additional functions
In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may perform the following additional functions
Transacting all business in accordance to Patterson Companies business code of ethics and conduct
Align with Patterson Companies Purpose, Vision and Values statement
Using assigned warehouse equipment/machinery to perform assigned job
Meeting/exceeding assigned performance metrics and KPIs
Helping maintain an organized, clean and safe warehouse
Handling all hazardous materials, pesticides, and prescription drugs according to the Company’s processes/procedures and all applicable laws and regulations
Performing all work in accordance with Company Safety guidelines and procedures, with safety and regulatory compliance
Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
High School diploma or GED preferred
Proficient and accurate PC/keyboarding skills. Familiar with MS Office Productivity Suite (Excel, Word) and email
Ability to read, write and count
Comprehensive problem-solving skills
Ability to meet deadlines and productivity goals
This position requires the ability to train and certify the use of a variety of forklifts: sit down, Cherry picker (mobile elevated working platform) and/or Joey forklift (multipurpose order picker that can elevate an operator and can be driven at height to move from task to task)
Working Conditions
Lift and carry up to 55 pounds, team lift 56 to 100 pounds: continuous, moderate or occasional heavy physical activity
Sitting or standing: continuous, moderate or occasional heavy physical activity
Use of hands: Continuous, moderate or occasional heavy physical activity
Stoop, bend, or crawl: Occasional or frequent moderate physical activity

This position requires no travel per week in a local area
For this position being on-call is not required

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount would be based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $17.88 - $21.92
